“A Trip to the Moon” Ceramic Sculpture

A French film, “Le Voyage dans la Lune”, or A Trip to the Moon, was produced and directed by Georges Méliès in 1902. Out of the 15 minute film only 10 seconds are held by the iconic moon shot in the eye. Méliès was a stage magician before he got involved in filmmaking, he plays the lead role in the film, and became a leader in technical and narrative developments in early cinema.

”A Trip to the Moon” is widely regarded as the earliest example of the science fiction film genre and as one of the most influential films in cinema history.
